should I have with me when filling out the lease application?
You should have: 1) Valid
Identification (driver's license, green card, passport, etc.) 2) Current and
previous employment information 3) Current information on your spouse and/or
other occupants 4) Emergency contact names and phone numbers 5) Money order
or check for application and deposit fee

my credit play an important role in whether or not my lease application is
accepted?
Yes it does. If you owe
another apartment community any money (back due rent, property damage fees,
etc.) you will automatically be denied in most cases. In some cases, past
due public service bills may raise credit worthiness issues. Past due
medical bill are not recognized as bad credit.

have a satellite dish. Can I still use it at an apartment?
Yes you can. However, you
will need to work with the apartment community and follow their guidelines
for placement of the satellite dish.

communities require gross income (before taxes) of three times the monthly
rent. For example, your combined income must exceed $3,000 for a $1,000 a
month apartment.

Yes, non-earned income such
as child support, welfare, and social security can be applied as income.
